I can't believe Logan is already five weeks old. I will try and give you an update on how he is doing.
1. Liver - Improving every visit. The two huge bruises on his liver are going away. One is completely gone and the other one has shrunk by half. They theory is that all of the internal bleeding he had started in the liver. The liver specialist has him on three different medications for now. As of last week he was pleased with his progress and does not want to see us again for two weeks.
2. Kidneys - The kidneys are now functioning at 20% this sounds bad, but we were at 0%. Like the liver specialist the kidney specialist feels like we continue to improve. He has put him on a medication to stabilize is acid levels, but other than that he was pleased. Like the liver doc we will see the kidney doc in two weeks.
3. WEIGHT - this has been the most concerning area for the last week. The liver doc has him on a special formula mixed with my breast milk then mixed with a fatty oil. It is a fun cocktail that I get to mix up every three hours. The good news is he was put on this cocktail last week and three days later when he saw his regular peditriation he had gained 3 ounces. PRAISE GOD!!!!!! It is working.
His pediatriation is seeing him on the off week that we are not going to Portland for the specialists. Our next visit is next Tuesday where she will weigh him and draw labs for the specialists for the following week.
Please just continue to pray for healing. We continue to give God the glory in the miracle that Logan is. His little body has healed so much in the last five weeks.
I will try and keep you posted on the weekly visits

Yay, that is wonderful news. I want to see more pictures:)
thanks for the update kristan. i check your blog often for news and we continue to pray for all of you during our prayer time. praise God for the progress logan has made, and will continue to make.
I am so happy to hear things are looking up. You must be really tired. I can't wait to be seeing your family more often.
Helpful Suggestion on how to fatten up Logan:
Coffee Toffee Ice Cream by Ben & Jerry's.
Olive Garden alfredo sauce served with butter incrusted bread sticks.
Cheese cake
Wash it all down with a nice warm bottle of melted butter.
This advice is free and tried and ture. (It really helped me gain weight) Please come to me for more helpful infant tips. I am writting a book as we speak about how to teach your newborn to bath themselves.
What wonderful news Kristan. We are glad to hear Logan is improving. I almost emailed your Mom to get an update because I know you guys have your hands full. Take great care up there.
Wonderful news Kristan! I have his blanket ready and waiting for him. We say a prayer for Logan every night.

That's strange? I was so sure I commented yesterday. I wondered if I commented about Logan in someone else's blog...that would be strange.
Logan is so sweet. It was such a pleasure to see him home with you guys. We keep you all in our prayers and Isabela can't wait to hold him and "make him all better."
Adding to Becca's suggestions:
girl scout cookies, my friend. They will fatten him up in no time.
Seriously, he looked awesome the other day. I'm so glad that he's home where he belongs!
